Ko Bed Ia? campaignAssumption High School visit

Project Summary

As a Marshallese slogan meaning “Where you at”? this project aims to send a message by simply asking audiences where they are at towards the Micronesia Challenge Movement. It focuses on climate change initiatives in the outer islands that are within the Reimaanlok Conservation Plan and also lets us increase the level of awareness within schools that have been visited and our radio programs. Since its launch early last year (2010), it has been widely spread to partners from Pohnpei, Chuuk and Kosrae. As an on-going project, it is important to let each and every one of our audience know about conservation. Since its launch in 2004, MICS has been able to visit many of the outer island communities, given visit schools, aired radio programs and written articles for newsletters. Thus, increasing the level of awareness to all ages about the importance of conservation by replanting trees, marine rapid assessments, beach clean-ups, community consultations, and lately absorbing climate change initiatives for a better tomorrow.
